The book contains an introduction that covers the definition of commercial law, its emergence, development and sources. The book consists of two parts: the theory of business, the trader and business premises as well as commercial companies.

Part one is divided into three chapters. The first chapter covers business theory, the importance of distinguishing between commercial work (business) and civil work, business controls, original businesses (sole businesses and business by contracting), subsidiary businesses (their basis and scope) and mixed businesses. Chapter two discusses the trader, what makes a trader, a trader’s compliance with professional ethics and avoidance of unfair competition. Chapter three reviews the definition, characteristics, legal nature, components, and legal protection of business premises and key actions related thereto (sale and mortgage).

In five chapters, the second part covers the history and legislation of companies in the Kingdom. Chapter one discusses general theory of companies. Chapter two reviews partnerships: general partnership, limited partnership and particular partnership. Chapter three covers associations of capital (joint-stock companies), their characteristics, establishment, issued instruments, activity and expiration. Chapter four examines mixed companies, such as partnerships limited by shares and limited liability companies. Chapter five discusses special types of companies (sole proprietorship and holding companies).

]]> Another KCORP publication is the book “The Iranian Ambitions in Arab and Muslim Countries: Drives and Hurdles – an analytical strategic study”, authored by Yusuf Khattab, an academic in King Khaled University in Riyadh. In approximately 550 pages, the author reviews his study, which is conducted based on scientific research standards, not personal opinions or desires. The study analyzes the Iranian policies and positions, whether internally, towards Arab neighbors or towards the rest of the world.

The book consists of three parts and nine chapters, covering the ideology of Wilayat al-Faqih (Islamic Jurist Guardianship) and its religious, historical and political dimensions. It also discusses the Iranian influence in the Arab and Muslim world, its objectives and methods. The author also addresses the exportation of ideology through soft and hard power and its justifications and objectives. In addition, the book examines how the Kingdom confronts the Iranian ambitions by discussing the Saudi-Iranian relations, the Iranian animosity towards Saudi Arabia and how the Kingdom deals with such ambitions.

This requires warning against such scourge, especially that some social and educational institutions have become unable to deal with the problem in its entirety, either because of their incompetence or due to lack of coordination between each other, not to mention the abundance of information on drugs on the Internet and chat websites about how to use, compose, plant, and prepare some of them.

]]> Since the last decade of the 20th century, there has been an increase in South-South trade, which is also reflected in the trade between the Gulf and Latin American countries. While trade between the two sides grew substantially during the last decade, there are also renewed attempts to cooperate in other fields. The opening of embassies in Latin America by the Gulf countries and vice versa in the last few years, direct flights between Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela to some of the capitals of the Gulf region, investments by the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in some Latin American countries and the holding of the Arab-South American Summits starting from 2005, among other exchanges, reveal the growing convergence of interests between these two regions. This book covers, in particular, an aspect that is often neglected in area studies, namely the exchange as a whole between the two regions, since most studies on these regions tend to focus on the interactions with developed countries or emerging economies such as China and Russia. From a historical, economic and politically strategic point of view, the book offers a critical examination of the foreign policies pursued by the Gulf and Latin American countries in the renewed exchange that is taking place now.

In the Gulf region, characterized by rapid urbanization and astonishing transformation over the last two decades, housing is absolutely urgent as a national priority. The Gulf region has an unusually large number of factors that make the emergence and development of quality affordable housing a challenge without obvious parallels or examples elsewhere in the world. As a result, the region presents a set of housing and affordable housing delivery challenges unique in their own right.
